To install MZ-Tools 8.0 for Visual Studio 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2022 you have two approaches:
- To install from outside Visual Studio, go to the Download page on the web site and click the Download button for Visual Studio 2015-2019 or for Visual Studio 2022. You will be taken to the Visual Studio Marketplace, where you click again a Download button:
A MZTools8VSPackage32.vsix or MZTools8VSPackage64.vsix file will be downloaded. Double-click on it to install it. You will be asked the available Visual Studio versions where to install MZ-Tools:
If you want to install MZTools8VSPackage32.vsix / MZTools8VSPackage64.vsix file without prompts (for massive deployments), use the VsixInstaller.exe utility provided by Visual Studio (in folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio\<version>\<edition>\Common7\IDE"). Type VsixInstaller.exe /? to get its command-line switches. MZ-Tools should be installed only for the current user, not for all users. Notice that admin rights are not required.
- To install from inside Visual Studio, go to the Tools | Extensions and Updates... window (Visual Studio 2015/2017) or Extensions | Manage Extensions... window (Visual Studio 2019/2022), Online | Visual Studio Marketplace section, search for "MZ-Tools", select it in the search results and click the Download button:
To configure the team options if you are working inside a team:
- If you are the team leader, configure the team options of MZ-Tools and then move the "TeamOptions" subfolder of the installation folder to some shared network folder.
- If you aren't the team leader, ask him / her the location of the team options folder (it should be in a shared network folder) and point to it as explained in the Customizing MZ-Tools section.
