The External Utilities section of the Personal Options window allows you to customize the external utilities used by the External Utilities feature:

To create an external utility you use the following dialog:

For each external utility you can enter the following properties:

  • Command: the full path of the executable, script or document.
  • Description: a friendly name for the external utility.
  • Parameters: you can include your own parameters in the command line that will launch the utility. You can also enter predefined variables such as Project Item File Name With Path, Project File Name With Path, Project Group File Name With Path, etc. that will be replaced with the proper values before launching the external utility.
  • Open In maximized window: check this property to open the utility maximized. Note that some applications remember their last state and ignore this setting.
