Review Control Default Properties

Top  Previous  Next

The Review Control Default Properties feature allows you to review if the controls of Windows forms, userControls, etc. have the default values that you have set in the Apply Control Default Properties feature of MZ-Tools. This is useful to review for example the name prefix of controls, the height of buttons, etc.

MZ-Tools offers the following ways to review the control default properties:

  • The MZ-Tools | Other Utilities | Review Control Default Properties... menu.
  • The Other Utilities | Review Control Default Properties... menu on the MZ-Tools toolbar.
  • The keyboard shortcut associated with the MZTools6_VSXXXX.ReviewControlDefaultProperties command.

When you invoke this feature, a dialog window is shown that allows you to select the scope of the operation. The results are shown in a Result Windows.

This review can be launched automatically (or you can be asked) before a build in Release configuration. This is customizable in the Corporate Options window, Review Control Default Properties section. If a wrong property value is detected, the Result window keeps open (otherwise it is closed). You should fix the wrong property values before building the executable.

Remarks:

  • Ensure that the source code can be compiled without errors before running this feature.
  • Smart Device projects are not supported by this feature.
