Favorite Projects

The Favorite Projects feature allows you to create a list with the projects that you use frequently so you can load them quickly (closing the current Visual Basic instance or not). It is intended to be used instead of the Recent Projects feature of Visual Basic, which has a couple of flaws: a recent project is not always a favorite project and you can not delete a recent project without digging into the Windows registry.

MZ-Tools offers the following ways to add a project to the list of favorites:

  • The Tools | MZ-Tools | Other Utilities | Add Current Project To Favorites menu.
  • The Other Utilities | Add Current Project To Favorites menu on the MZ-Tools toolbar.
  • The shortcut customized in the Options window, Shortcuts tab.

MZ-Tools offers the following ways to show the list of favorite projects:

  • The Tools | MZ-Tools | Other Utilities | Load Project From Favorites... menu.
  • The Other Utilities | Load Project From Favorites... menu on the MZ-Tools toolbar.
  • The shortcut customized in the Options window, Shortcuts tab.

The window of favorite projects is the following:

favorite_projects

In this window, you can open a favorite project in a new Visual Basic instance, optionally closing the current one. You can also remove projects from the list.

Remarks:

  • This feature is not available in the VBA version of MZ-Tools.
  • The favorite projects list is saved in the Windows registry because it is different for each user.
